DinDin ("the App") is a meal planning and grocery list app built for households. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive:
- Your email address
- Your display name (if provided by your sign-in provider)
You also provide:
- A display name (required during setup)
- A profile icon (emoji selection)
App Data
Data you create while using the App:
- Meal plans and meal names
- Grocery lists and grocery items
- Past meal records and ratings
- Next week meal ideas
- Household name and membership
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Location data
- Contacts
- Photos or camera data
- Health or fitness data
- Financial or payment data
- Advertising identifiers
- Analytics or tracking data
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide the App's features:
- Displaying your profile to household members
- Sharing meal plans and grocery lists within your household
- Saving your meal history and preferences
We do not:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Share your data with advertisers
- Use your data for profiling or targeted advertising
- Track your activity across other apps or websites
Data Storage and Security
- Account sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication
- Your app data is stored in a secured database on our private server infrastructure
- Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
- Access to household data is restricted to members of that household
Data Sharing
Your data is shared only with members of your household:
- Household members can see your display name, email, and profile icon
- Household members can see shared meal plans, grocery lists, and ideas
No data is shared with third parties, except as required by our infrastructure providers to operate the service.
Your Rights
You can:
- Update your profile at any time through the App's Settings screen
- Leave a household to stop sharing data with its members
- Delete your data by leaving your household and signing out — household data you contributed (meals, grocery items) remains accessible to other household members
- Request account deletion by contacting us at the email below
Account Deletion
To delete your account and personal data, email us at support@dindinlists.app with the subject line "DinDin Account Deletion Request" and the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm by email. Shared household data you contributed (meal names, grocery items, ideas) may remain accessible to other household members, as it is part of the shared household and not solely tied to your account.
Children's Privacy
DinDin is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
